A fairly rare set here featuring a Military Order of the World War commander's grade medal, along with a framed document dated 1925. This set had, at one time, belonged to a WWI veteran, Maj. James W. Ferris, who joined the order on May 1st 1925. The presence of two silver palms on the ribbon of this award signify that the wearer was the commander of his local chapter of the order.
The medal is maker marked on the reverse, and shows some wear which is visible in photos. It features opaque red enamel rather than the more common translucent red, and nearly all of it's gold finish still remains. Excellent condition.
