Fine original WWII German Heer (army) sleeve chevron here for the rank of obergefreiter. Gold tresse on dark green wool backing. Excellent condition. 
 
Obergefreiter (translated as "senior lance-corporal") was the rank normally given to soldiers who had command over small squads or to those soldiers who had held the rank of Gefreiter and below. Soldiers that had performed a significant feat of achievement were given this title.
