This decoration was awarded to all mothers who raised 5 children. It was awarded at the first birthday of the last child, provided that the other 4 children remained alive. Children who had died under ‘respectful’ conditions were also counted. 
 
A very fine original Soviet Maternity Medal, 2nd class (5 children). Enamel is in good condition, any wear present is visible in photos. Working pin and catch, some discoloration and age visible on the reverse.
