This is an authentic WWII German Heer (Army) visor eagle, and from the front it looks great. At some point in this eagle's life, it's pins were removed and a tack was attached to the reverse. It was likely mounted in a display, possibly by the veteran who brought it back from the war. Priced to reflect the atypical pin setup. 
 
The German Army (German: Heer) was the land forces component of the Wehrmacht, the regular German Armed Forces, from 1935 until it ceased to exist in 1945 and then was formally dissolved in August 1946.
