This is a fine original Order of the Red Star, Serial No. 2,102,489. This order has been partially researched (award record card only) and was awarded to Odnostalchenko, Ivan Yakovlevich on March 1st, 1945. Odnostalchenko was a Ukranian serving in the 677th Rifle Regiment, 409th Rifle Division as a Medic & Stretcher-bearer Platoon Commander.
His citation reads as follows:
"On the front, Comrade Odnostalchenko proved himself bold and brave.
Starting with the regiment’s combat actions to breach the Germans’ defenses in the area of the village of Chata (Czechoslovakia) on 27.03.1945, Comrade Odnostalchenko, as commander of the medic and stretcher-bearer platoon, carried out the evacuation of wounded from the battalion to regimental aid points during the entire course of the regiment’s combat actions. During the offensive, he evacuated wounded in a timely fashion, rending first aid.
On 02.04.1945 in the area of battles for the city of Bratislava, Comrade Odnostalchenko, under heavy enemy artillery and mortar fire, did well organizing the evacuation of wounded from the front line. He thereby saved the lives of up to 15 wounded soldiers and officers. As a medical worker, he gives great attention to saving the lives of the regiment’s wounded soldiers and officers.
For timely provision of medical aid to save the lives of soldiers and commanders, and for self-sacrificing work in organizing evacuation of wounded from the front lines, Comrade Odnostalchenko deserves the Government award the Order of the Red Star."

for merit in strengthening the defence capabilities of the socialist community.
