A beautiful and early Czech Socialist Republic Award for Excellent Work, complete with original award box and ribbon bar. This award is serialized, and features an early 4 digit serial number - 2680. Condition is as depicted in photos. No major damage, some light contact wear on the reverse of the award - likely from being worn. It should be noted that this pre-1960 version of the award features the inscription "CSR" on the reverse, whereas post-1960 the inscription read "CSSR".
 
The Award for Excellent Work was awarded to persons who "through excellent striking work and permanent extraordinary performance became a role model in the performance of work tasks and gained other workers to follow, or to those who contributed to the development of science, culture or technology with their excellent work."
