Very cool group of WWII awards named to Malcolm G. Miller, USNR. All of the ribbon bars that Mr. Miller collected during his Navy reserve career are present on the card which bares his name. In addition to that there is a 5 place medal bar with 5 period correct WWII medals. The group also features one bullion rank star, and one national defense medal. When researching Mr. Miller, I found the following article about him being relieved of duty at the US Naval Reserve Training Center in Kingsport TN. It is dated Sunday, October 17, 1954. The part which mentions Miller is as follows:
"Lieutenant Commander R. B. Hall, U. S. Navy, has relieved Commander Malcolm G. Miller, US Naval Reserve as Commanding Officer, of the U. S. Naval Reserve Training Center. Commander Miller completes a duty tour of and one-half years as commanding officer of the training center here. He has been released to duty as a Naval Reserve officer."
This is an affordable wartime set of awards for a decorated man with a long naval career.
