A fine original WWII German Luftschutz Medal, 2nd class. This medal shows obvious oxidization. A nice length of original ribbon is attached.

The Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen was instituted on 30 January 1938 and was awarded for bravery during and directly after Allied air raids. This medal was instituted in two classes, and both classes were designed by Egon Jantke of Berlin. The Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen was not only reserved for the members of the Luftschutz but could also be awarded to factory guards, fire fighters, and police.
