A very nice example of a rare medal here. This medal was (as the inscription reads) presented by Veteran Association of the First Corps of Cadets of Massachusetts. This organization is still active today. This medal was presented to members of the 101st Engineer Battalion in recognition of their service in WWI. Working pin and catch to the reverse. Original ribbon in excellent condition.

The First Corps of Cadets of Massachusetts formed in 1741. Its motto is Monstrat Viam - "It Points the Way." While it has served in several wars, the sub-unit's primary contribution to Massachusetts and to the United States was as an officer-producing institution for new regiments from the Revolutionary War through World War II.
