A very interesting 2 position medal bar here featuring the Prussian Merit Cross for War Aid and the German Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 w/ Swords (Hindenburg Cross). This bar would have been worn by an individual who contribued to the homefront war effort as well as serving in a combatant role during WWI. Excellent condition, working pin and catch on the reverse.

The Merit Cross for War Aid (German: Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe) was a war decoration of Prussia awarded during World War I. Instituted 5 December 1916, the cross was awarded for patriotic war aid service, without regard to status or rank.

The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, commonly known as the Hindenburg Cross, or the German WWI Service Cross, was established by Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, on 13 July 1934, to commemorate service of the German people during the First World War.
