The Order of St Alexander (Bulgarian: Орден "Свети Александър") was the second highest Bulgarian order during the Kingdom of Bulgaria. It was established by Knyaz Alexander I and named after his patron saint (Alexander Nevsky). The order was awarded to Bulgarian and foreign citizens with the personal benevolence of the Bulgarian monarch, who was the Grand Master of the Order. Abolished 15 September 1946.

This is an absolutely beautiful and near mint condition 5th class Order of St. Alexander, suspended on textbook original red tri-fold ribbon. No enamel damage is present. Some patina is present and visible, it does not detract from the appearance of the order. This award does not feature swords, which tells us that the recipient was recognized for non-military actions. A fairly rare award, and a difficult example to upgrade from.
