A very fine cased example of the Order of Polonia Restituta, 1944. Awarded by the communist government in Poland from the end of WWII until 1989, this is the more affordable counterpart to the Order of Polonia Restituta 1918 (instituted during the 2nd Polish Republic, pre WWII.) Still, this is a desirable example with a fitted presentation box and perfect enamel. The rosette on the ribbon is indicative of the officer's grade award, as is the oversized cross. The eagle has no crown which is typical of all Polish awards and imagery during the communist era.
