Very fine example of the rare Stakhanovista medal, cased and with award document dated 1952. This is a nice early set. Award document features early Hungarian crest badge on it's cover. Wooden box in excellent condition.

The medal is named after Soviet Ukranian miner Alexei Stakhanov, who was the first miner to extract 100 tons of coal in a single shift. He inspired the Stakhanovite Movment, which stressed that innovations in process come from those who actually do the work. This medal was only awarded for three years, and only one medal was awarded to one person per industry.
